ABOUT ME

Rhonda lives at 96 Marti Street, Bayview Heights, Cairns, Queensland, Australia. Her work and children and now grandchildren define her. She is employed as the Director of Nursing at Chillagoe Hospital. She has grown in many significant ways and expanded on her life as a midwife. She is now a remote sole nurse practitioner and loves her work. Rhonda sees herself primarily as a healer and is keen to explore her untapped spiritual side to heal and restore health. She is particularly keen to draw on her traumatic experiences with Cleis to give others hope and a plan for a better future, albeit in the face of seemingly impossible odds.

Rhonda is also planning to write more books. She wants to write about her transition from midwife to remote sole nurse practitioner. She has been on a remarkable journey and this journey is peppered with amazing characters. She is keen to get this part of her life into print.

Rhonda also wants to write about her son and grandson, Jarl and Jadon. This book is already in planning stages and will be entitled Raising Sons: From 10% to Top 1%.

Another plan is to travel and visit spiritual places, such as those touched by Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa and Queen Elisabeth II. Rhonda has developed a connection with the spirit and spirituality, harkening back to that beautiful dream when Cleis was hovering between life and death. Rhonda clearly saw Cleis's grandmother, Kath Norbury, cradling Cleis and protecting her until the ambulance and paramedics were able to strut their stuff and transport the beaten and broken Cleis to hospital and specialist care.

But, mostly Rhonda finds great pleasure in spending time with her grandson, Jadon and lives for the Friday nights and Saturdays Jadon spends at Nanny's house. He is her hope for the future and she cannot get enough of his smiles and playful antics. Jarl will always be the father figure in the Norbury household. He looks after them all and takes his responsibilities as "the man of the house" very seriously. He sees his mother and sister regularly and lives happily close by.

Like her mother, Rhonda loves to sing and is a self taught ukulele player.

Rhonda, Jarl and Cleis Norbury are a remarkable family. They are survivors in every sense of the word. Readers will be riveted by the story of their journey and will certainly feel a sense of pride in their achievements
